E.D. Woman Human Trafficking Plea

An East Dubuque woman has accepted a plea deal after she was charged with human trafficking and other charges when she was arrested in Des Moines in July. A Polk County District Court official says 25-year old Brittany Walters was sentenced to two years of probation for the felony D charge of pimping and ordered to have no contact with the victims. Two counts of human trafficking and one count of pandering for prostitution were dropped and the five year sentence suspended. The crimes were committed at a hotel in Ankeny. According to court documents, Walters “knowingly and unlawfully engaged in human trafficking by setting up and driving four females to Des Moines for the purpose of prostitution.”
