Dubuquer Facing 20 Charges Over Credit Card Spending Spree

A Dubuque man is facing twenty separate charges after being accused of using a woman’s credit card to go on a month-long spending spree. 28-year-old Nathan Lantz was arrested on Wednesday morning. He’s been charged with two counts of Identity Theft and eighteen counts of Unauthorized Use of a Credit Card. According to court documents, police began investigating Lantz in early November, after a woman reported several unusual purchases had been made on her credit card. She suspected that Lantz was the one making the purchases. Through the month of October, Lantz reportedly used the card at thirteen different Dubuque retailers, racking up more than $460 in charges. If convicted on all of the charges against him, Lantz could face up to forty years in jail.
