Dubuque Woman Sentenced To Jail

A Dubuque woman avoided significant jail time after pleading guilty to a drug possession charge. Online court records say 21 year old Ashleigh Jordan recently pled guilty to the lesser charge of unlawful possession of a controlled substance in Dubuque County district court. She was originally charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver. A charge of possession of marijuana was dismissed. Jordan was sentenced to a year in jail, but the judge suspended all but 10 days of the sentence. She will also be placed on two years of probation. Jordan was a passenger in a vehicle that was stopped by a Dubuque County sheriff’s deputies in February. Deputies found over 200 ecstasy pills in Jordan’s pocket. The drugs were valued at more than $4,000. The driver, 23 year old Siobham Miles of Dubuque was in possession of more than 28 grams of crack cocaine and several small bags of marijuana. Miles has pleaded not guilty to drug possession charges. She will next appear in court on August 19th.
