Dubuque Window Smasher Turns Himself In

A man who went on a window smashing spree in Dubuque before turning himself in early Tuesday morning has been charged with a felony. Court documents say 56 year old Raymond Vaske was arrested at the law enforcement center and charged with one felony count of second degree criminal mischief. Following the window breaking spree Vaske went to the law enforcement center and told police he was turning himself in for breaking windows around town. He then pulled a claw hammer out of his coverall jacket and handed it to an officer. Vaske admitted to breaking out the windows of six vehicles, two businesses and an investigative firm in the downtown area. The total damage is estimated at more than $8,000. He did not give a reason for committing the crimes.
