Dubuque Teen Knocked Out While Fleeing

A Dubuque teenager accidently knocked himself out while fleeing officers this week. According to a police report, 18 year old Ernest Hunt Jr. stole a man’s debit card Sunday and used it to withdraw over 12-hundred dollars from Alliant Credit Union and made a transaction with the card at a store. Police pulled over a car driven by Hunt near the intersection of West 5th and Main Streets early Monday. Hunt told officers he had permission to use the card. Police told Hunt to get out of the car, but he instead drove off. Hunt then crashed into a parked vehicle. After crashing into the empty vehicle, Hunt jumped out and fled on foot. He then jumped a fence landing on his head and knocked himself out. Hunt was taken to an area hospital where he was treated and released. Hunt faces a laundry list of charges including unauthorized use of a credit card, interference with official acts, stop sign violations, speeding, leaving the scene of a crash and failure to maintain control.
