Dubuque Teacher Of The Year

The newest “teacher of the year” in the Dubuque Community School District is a social studies instructor at Hempstead High School. During its’ annual Educators’ Recognition Dinner last week, Adam Miller was selected as the “teacher of the year.” Miller has taught at Hempstead since 2005. A release from the district describes Miller as having “high expectations of his students, and they never balk at that, but rather understand and appreciate that he wants them to learn and rise to the challenge.” There were nine other finalists for the recognition. Later this year, Miller will be recognized by the school board and receive a plague that will hang alongside other past winner at the Forum on Cheney Road. Also during the dinner, Matthew Hull, principal at Table Mound Elementary received the (Team) or Together Educators and Administrative Make-it-Happen) award.
