Dubuque Snow Cleanup Continues, Can Be Lengthy Process

Courtesy: City of Dubuque

While it’s now been a couple of days since the last snowflake fell in Dubuque, city crews are still working to clear snow from the streets. Public Works administrators say snow removal is a multi-step process that begins with treating the streets before the snowfall begins. During and immediately after the snow, they’ll have plows out to keep streets as clear as possible. In some cases, they’ll push the snow into large mounds, and then come back to clear it out in later days. That’s the part of the process happening now. Public Works Director John Klostermann says it all takes time. One thing that can complicate the snow removal process is on-street parking. That’s why the city’s odd/even snow route parking policy is in effect through the day today.
