Dubuque Salvation Army Very Close to Fundraising Goal

With a few donations still to be counted, the Dubuque chapter of the Salvation Army is very close to its fundraising goal for their Christmas Campaign. The campaign began back in November, with a goal of raising about $229,000. Captain Matt Phelps from the Army tells us that they’re currently about $13,000 shy of that mark, though there are some donations left to be counted. In the final days before the end of the Red Kettle Campaign, the army was about $60,000 shy of their goal. But Phelps says they saw a great response in the final days before Christmas. Phelps is confident the remaining money will come in over the next week or so. Phelps says it took a lot of effort from a lot of people to come even this close to making the goal. If the Christmas Campaign goal is met, it will mark the second consecutive year that the Salvation Army has reached its fundraising goal.
