Dubuque Rescue Mission to Serve as Warming Center

A Dubuque homeless shelter has been busy collecting items to help get its residents through this cold spell, but managers say more is needed. The Dubuque Rescue Mission on Monday received several donations of things like comforters, hats, gloves, and hand warmers. They’ll distribute the items to local homeless people, and the Mission will also be open as a warming center over the next several days, according to Executive Director Rick Mihm. The Rescue Mission is located at the intersection of 4th and Main streets in downtown Dubuque. Almost Home, an overflow shelter located in the 1200 block of White Street, will also be open as a warming center this week.
