A Dubuque native is in the running to become the next superintendent of a Quad Cities school district. Rachel Savage is one of three finalists for the top job at the Moline-Coal Valley school district. Savage is currently a middle school principal in the Waterloo school district, a position she’s held since 2015. Prior to that, she had been the superintendent at the unified school district in Williams, Arizona. Savage graduated from Senior High School in 1991, then earned a degree in Spanish from Loras College. She taught world languages at Western Dubuque and Hempstead High Schools until 2009, when she moved to Arizona. The Moline-Coal Valley school board is expected to announce its choice for the superintendent position in mid-January.
