Dubuque Man Sentenced On Drug Charge

A Dubuque man will be spending the next 15 months behind bars after pleading guilty to a crack cocaine charge. 32 year old Christopher Emory pleaded guilty earlier this year to selling crack cocaine to a confidential source on two separate occasions in November of 2018. Emory was charged with one felony count of distribution of crack cocaine near a protected area. Those sales took place near a school and a park. Prosecutors say in all Emory sold two grams of crack to the informant.  Also in November of 2018, police searched Emory’s home as part of a recent shots fired investigation, and during the search they found over 300 dollars in cash, ecstasy and a .380 caliber handgun magazine. He sold the crack while he was on probation for domestic abuse assault. When he is released Emory will be placed on six years of supervised release.
