Dubuque Man Pleads Guilty To Firearms Charge

A Dubuque man faces up to ten years in prison after he pleaded guilty to a federal gun charge. In a plea agreement, 32 year old Daniel Heim was convicted of one count of being a drug user in possession of firearms and ammunition. In federal court in Cedar Rapids this week, Heim admitted to having 14 firearms and nearly 3,400 rounds of ammunition while using cocaine and marijuana in December of last year. Heim remains free on bond pending his sentencing. In addition to the ten years behind bars, Heim could be fined $250,000. He will be sentenced after a pre-sentence report is prepared by the judge.
