Dubuque Man Pleads Guilty To Firearm Charge

A Dubuque man faces up to ten years in prison for being a prohibited person in possession of a firearm. 33 year old Tobias Sarazin pled guilty to the felony charge in U.S. District Court in Cedar Rapids this week and was immediately convicted. Sarazin admitted his guilt during a plea hearing. He said that in December of last year he carried a pistol, while using methamphetamine and marijuana. In addition to the ten year prison sentence Sarazin could be fined 250-thousand dollars and be placed on three years of probation once he is released. For now he remains in the custody of the United States Marshal.
