Dubuque Man Faces Federal Prison Time

A Dubuque man could be spending the next decade-and-half in federal prison after pleading guilty to a gun charge. Court records from Cedar Rapids say 34 year old Norris Culver recently pled guilty to possession of a firearm and ammunition by a felon and a person convicted of domestic violence. In May officers responded to a report of gunshots in the 800 block of Rhomberg Avenue. There they found spent shell casings and bullet marks on the front of a home. Statements by witnesses and traffic camera footage were used by police to identify Culver. He was arrested after leaving a residence in the area. Officers searched that residence and found a 45 caliber handgun that matched the shell casings found at the original scene. Culver will be sentenced at a later date.
