Dubuque County Fair To Be Held After All

The Dubuque County Fair will be held this year, but instead of six days, the fair will run 4 days beginning July 30th through August 2nd. Fair manager Kevin Kotz says the reason for the shortened dates is concerns about COVID-19 spreading, and the unavailability of a carnival this year. On the opening day of the fair gates will open at 3 pm and the evening entertainment will consist of sprint car and stock car racing. On Friday evening there will be a demolition derby. On Sunday there will be a “Fun Day”. Kotz says the fair board gave the OK to put on an event this year to give people some sort of release from the bondages of COVID-19. During all four days of the fair there will be live music in the festival garden. The bands that will perform are both local and from outside of Dubuque. Kotz says they had to cancel the concerts for this year, but he says Chris Lane, Queensryche and Skid Row have been rebooked for next year.
