Dubuque County Absentee Ballot Request

Registered voters in Dubuque County are receiving a second absentee ballot request form in the mail this week. This comes from Secretary of State Paul Pate, who is mailing out a second request to every registered voter in Iowa. On April 23rd, the Dubuque County election office began mailing out absentee ballot request to voters in the county. Deputy Commissioner of Elections Jenny Hillary says they were too far along in their process when Pate said he would start sending ballot request this week. Hillary says if you have already received an absentee ballot request from her office, and you get one in the mail this week from the state, just ignore the one from the state. Nearly 12,000 voters in Dubuque County have already taken advantage of the request forms, which means they’ll be staying at home on primary election day. Hillary says there will only be nine in-person voting sites open across the county on election day. All ballot request forms must be received in the election office no later than 5 pm on May 22nd.
