Dubuque City/School Elections

Voters in communities throughout the Tri-States are headed to the polls today to cast their ballots in city and school elections. In Dubuque at-large incumbent councilman David Resnick faces newcomer Luke Schiltz, while incumbent second ward representative Luis Del Toro will try and stave off challenger Laura Roussell. In ward three newcomers Danny Sprank and Phil Atkinson will face each other. In ward four Brad Cavanaugh goes up against former school board member Jay Schiesl. Resnick, Schiltz, Roussell, Del Toro, Cavanaugh and Schiesl are all seeking four year terms on the city council, while Sprank and Atkinson are vying for two year terms. Dubuque school board president and incumbent Tami Ryan is running for one of the open seats on the school board as is incumbents Mike Donohue and Lisa Wittman. Newcomer Kate Parks is also vying for one of the open seats. Incumbent Tom Barton decided not to run again. Western Dubuque school board candidates are incumbent Jessica Pape in district two. She is being challenged by Michael Clasen. In district four Nancy Fett faces Jeff Wolf, while incumbent Chad Vaske in district five has no opponent. Polls open at 7 am and close at 8 pm.
