Driver Injured in Plow Crash Identified

We’ve learned the name of the man who was critically injured after crashing into a snowplow on Saturday. 21-year-old Nicholas Schulke of Olin was hospitalized following the crash, which happened east of Dyersville at about 3:40 Saturday afternoon. According to the Dubuque County Sheriff’s Office, Schulke rear-ended a snowplow from the Iowa Department of Transportation as it was clearing snow on the shoulder of US Highway 20. Schulke had been eastbound on Highway 20 and lost control of his vehicle on the snow-covered roadway. He was initially taken to Mercy Hospital in Dubuque before being transferred to University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City. He was listed in critical condition at last report. It’s not clear if the snowplow driver was injured.
