Drive Sober Or Get Pulled Over

In an effort to save lives and prevent needless tragedies, the Lafayette County Sheriff’s Department has joined law enforcement agencies across Wisconsin for the “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” holiday campaign. It runs from now through New Year’s Day. Chief Deputy Troy Loeffelholz says extra deputies are patrolling the roadways to make it safer for all motorists during the holiday season. Deputies are keeping an eye out for any variety of traffic violations. There will be a lot of Christmas and New Year’s Day parties, and Loeffelholz says if you are going to consume alcoholic beverages at those celebrations, make sure to hand your keys to a designated driver, or use other methods of transportation. Last year alcohol-related crashes resulted in 160 deaths and nearly 3,300 injuries in Wisconsin.
