DRA Gives School District Big Check

An official with the Dubuque Racing Association recently hand delivered a big check to the Dubuque school board. The 154-thousand dollar grant to the district was announced in May and at its’ most recent school board meeting, Kathy Droessler, DRA director of grants turned the check over to board president Tami Ryan. Droessler says this year’s grant award to the district is 34-thousand more than it was last year. Superintendent Stan Rheingans says they’ll review every proposal from every school that requested funds and divide the money up. Over the past 20 years, the DRA has awarded over 3.6 million dollars to the district.
