Dog Gets Caught In Trap, Bites Owner

Possible trapping violations are under investigation by the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources after a man’s dog got its’ foot caught in a trap Thursday afternoon. According to the Grant County Sheriff’s Office, Lee Perko of Muscoda was out walking his two dogs on Wisconsin wildlife property along the Wisconsin River in Muscoda Township, when one of the animals stepped in a foot trap. As Perko was attempting to free the dog, he was bitten in both hands. Blue River Fire and EMS along with the DNR and a sheriff’s deputy were summoned to the scene. Some members of the rescue crew were able to free the dog, while the others assisted Perko, who was taken to a local hospital to be treated. Both dogs were transported to the Riverdale Vet Clinic, where the injured dog received treatment.
