Documents: Suspected Attacker Made U-Turn to Chase Jogger

Court documents have revealed some additional information around the attack on a Dubuque jogger this week, including the detail that the suspected attacker pulled out of traffic to chase his victim. The attack happened on South Grandview Avenue at about 7:00 Sunday night. 22-year-old Greg Langel was arrested by Dubuque Police on Wednesday and has been charged with Assault. According to police, Langel was driving north on Grandview, approaching its intersection with Dodge Street. After the jogger ran by, police say Langel pulled “an immediate U-turn.” Langel then reportedly ran up to the victim and told her she was beautiful. He gave her a flower and asked for her phone number. When she wouldn’t give it, police say he grabbed her arm. The woman pulled away, and says that Langel then tried to grab both her arms. That’s when she kicked him and ran off. Police say the woman was later able to pick Langel out of a photo-lineup. If convicted on the Assault charge, he could face up to 30 days in jail.
