District Taking Preventative Measures Against COVID-19

The lead nurse for the Dubuque Community school district says they are taking preventative measures against COVID-19. In an email sent out to parents yesterday. Nurse Allie White says they are operating in a state of preparedness and are in regular contact with the Iowa Department of Public Health and the Dubuque County and city of Dubuque health departments to be sure they are informed on the latest developments on the coronavirus. White says the district will continue to partner and work with the agencies. Right now the district uses hospital-grade disinfectants for commonly touched surfaces in all district buildings. She says it is important that students and staff stay home if they are sick, or have a fever above 100.4, vomiting or diarrhea, and not return until receiving the OK from their physician. You can find the most up-to-date information about COVID-19 on the Iowa Department of Health Coronavirus Webpage and the Centers for Disease Control Coronavirus Webpage.
