DC Sheriff’s Office Making Changes

In an attempt to contain COVID-19, the Dubuque County Sheriff’s office has made a few changes to protocol effective immediately. Sheriff Joe Kennedy says starting now until further notice they are asking the public to limit exposure for themselves and his staff by avoiding personal business in their lobby. He says a lot of the business that people conduct in their lobby can be done online. If the sheriff’s office gets a 911 call, deputies will respond, but each situation will be handled in the manner it requires. Kennedy says to protect the inmate population, the jail has suspended all outside programming. Kennedy says since inmates are in such close proximity with each other, the risk for spreading any viral disease becomes higher.
