Darlington Woman Seriously Injured in Car-Buggy Crash

An Amish woman from southwest Wisconsin was seriously injured after a driver crashed into her buggy on Friday. According to the Lafayette County Sheriff’s Office, the crash happened a few minutes before noon on State Highway 81 between Darlington and Argyle. 19-year-old Tyler Knight of Janesville was eastbound on Highway 81, when he lost control of his car going around a curve. The vehicle crossed the center line, then collided with a horse and buggy being driven by 39-year-old Katie Ebersol of Darlington. The sheriff’s office says Ebersol was ejected from the buggy and suffered what are called “serious” injuries. She was initially taken to Memorial Hospital in Darlington, but airlifted to UW Hospital in Madison not long after arrival. Knight cited for failing to keep his vehicle under control.
