Dance Marathon-Rake-A-Thon

As the leaves continue to fall from the trees, a lot of people are planning on how they will get rid of them. Some residents throughout Dubuque have plans to convert their leaves to mulch, while others rake them up and place them curbside to be picked up by the city. Unfortunately for some people, like the elderly and disabled, raking leaves is not an option. That’s where the Loras Dance Marathon Team comes into to play. Team member Lauren Krapfl says on November 2nd, team members will be going to homes throughout the community and raking yards in exchange for a free-will donation. The Rake-A-Thon will start at around 9 in the morning on November 2nd. Last year, the Rake-a-Thon turned into a Shovel-Thon, because of snow. All of the money raised will go to the University of Iowa Stead Family Children’s Hospital. To sign up to have your yard raked email dance.marathonloras.edu by Friday.
