Crack Dealer Takes Plea Deal

A Dubuque man accused of selling crack cocaine to confidential informants on several occasions nearly two years ago is taking a plea deal. Online court records from Dubuque County say 28 year old Shelvin Naylor recently pled guilty to three counts of possession of cocaine with intent to deliver as a second or subsequent offense. In August and September of 2017, documents say Naylor sold crack cocaine to confidential informants working with the Dubuque Drug Task Force. Naylor was arrested last January while leaving his residence on Hill Street. At the time policer say he had 27 grams of crack and marijuana on him, which constitutes enough for distribution. The county attorney’s office is recommending a 20 years in prison for Naylor. He will be sentenced on July 1st.
