Corrigan Delivers Dubuque County COVID-10 Update

As of 11 o’clock this morning, Dubuque County reported 25 more new confirmed cases of COVID-19. That brings the county’s total to 1,271. The county has also completed 17,422 tests for a 7.0 percent positivity rate. City of Dubuque Health Specialist Mary Rose Corrigan says cases continue to increase in the county’s young adult population as well as the rest of the state and the country. Iowans over 80 account for 48 percent of COVID related deaths followed by the 61 to 80 age group, which is 41 percent of the state’s deaths. A directive issued by Governor Kim Reynolds’ office, which takes effect today says that the Test Iowa Clinic, located at Epic Health and Wellness  on Cedar Cross Road is now limited to 100 test per day and the Dubuque VNA will no longer be allowed to assist residents without a computer or internet access to register for Test Iowa. There have been 23 COVID related deaths in Dubuque County since the pandemic hit the area nearly five months ago.
