PEORIA, Illinois (KCRG) – Northern Iowa had 16 wins total last season. On Saturday, the Panthers matched last season’s total after beating Bradley 86-71 and moved into sole possession of first place in the Missouri Valley Conference. Northern Iowa was up 11 with 8:30 to go in the first half, but Bradley went on a 10-1 run and only trailed 38-36 at halftime. Northern Iowa faces Southern Illinois on Wednesday at 8 p.m.

 

LUBBOCK, Texas (AP) — Kyler Edwards had 22 points coming off the highest-scoring game of his career and No. 23 Texas Tech pulled away from Iowa State in the second half of a 72-52 victory. The sophomore was 5 of 6 from 3-point range after scoring 24 points in a victory at Kansas State that stopped a two-game skid. Texas Tech went on an 18-2 run in the second half. The Cyclones missed their first 15 attempts from 3-point range and finished 3 of 22. Tyrese Haliburton led the Cyclones with 13 points.

 

CHAMPAIGN, Ill, (AP) — Trent Frazier scored 16 points, including hitting four 3-pointers, to lead No. 24 Illinois to a 75-71 win over Northwestern. Illinois (13-4, 5-2 Big Ten) had five players in double figures on Saturday. Ayo Dosunmu scored 14 points, Giorgi Bezhanishvili had 13, Kofi Cockburn 12 and Andres Feliz added 10.  Robbie Beran led Northwestern (6-11, 1-6) with 17 points. Kopp had 16 points, Pat Spencer 14 and Ryan Young added 12.
