Colesburg Man Charged in October Hit-and-Run
An arrest has been made in a Clayton County hit-and-run crash from last month. 25-year-old Travis Fangmann of Colesburg has been charged with a 3rd offense of Operating While Intoxicated, Leaving the Scene of a Serious Injury Accident, and three traffic citations. According to the Clayton County Sheriff’s office, deputies were called after a two-vehicle crash just north of Colesburg on October 20. The sheriff’s office now says that Fangmann rear-ended another vehicle, sending into the ditch, where it rolled over. The driver of that car was initially taken to the hospital in Guttenberg, then airlifted to University Hospitals in Iowa City. Deputies found Fangmann lying in a ditch almost two miles north of the crash scene. He claimed that he had hit a deer, which disabled his vehicle.
