The anticipation is building as the Clarke University Pride get ready to play their first football game in program history this Saturday when they host Central Methodist University at Dalzell Field. Pride head coach Miguel Regelado says his roster which is loaded with freshman and sophomore class players have put in great work preparing for the historic season.
The 2019 season is a culmination of planning and preparation since January of 2015 when Clarke announced it would be starting a football program from the ground floor. Saturday’s game will be televised by ESPN 3 and there is free admission for all fans. Regelado says with all that in mind it should create an electric atmosphere to launch the season.The Pride will play 6 home games during the 11 game season in the Heart of America Conference. Kickoff Saturday morning will be at 11 o’clock.
