Christmas Toy Shop Sign Up

Because of the coronavirus pandemic, the Salvation Army of Dubuque is going online this year for its’ annual Christmas Assistance for low-income households. Captain Emily Phelps says registration is under way now and will run through November 12th, or until all available spots are filled. After registering, people who sign up for Christmas toys will have an opportunity to choose an appointment time to come to the Salvation Army and pick out the toys. There will be a limited amount of families allowed inside the building when the toys are distributed. Distribution of toys will start on November 30th and run through the first three weeks of December. Captain Emily says they really had to rethink how they were going to operate the toy shop this year. For people who are signing up for Christmas food will also register online and will receive a voucher through the mail. Captain Emily says they typically serve between 400 and 450 families every year.
