Cascade Man Who Smoked Pot in Front of Daughter Gets Probation

A Cascade man accused of smoking marijuana while his infant daughter was in his car will spend two years on probation. According to court documents, 30-year-old Danny Mitchell, Junior was pulled over by Dyersville police in February. During the traffic stop, the officer smelled marijuana coming from the vehicle. Mitchell admitted to smoking pot just before the stop. His 9-month-old daughter was in a car seat, though it was not secured with a seat belt. Methamphetamine was also found inside the vehicle. Mitchell recently pled guilty to charges including Child Endangerment, Possession of Meth, and Operating While Intoxicated. As part of his plea deal, prosecutors dropped three other charges. If Mitchell would violate his probation, he’ll go to prison for three years.
