Boil Advisory Issued for Part of Dubuque’s North End

Courtesy: City of Dubuque

Residents of Dubuque’s North End are being told to boil their water before using it, due to a water main break yesterday. City officials say a 12-inch main broke at the Eagle Point Water Plant on Hawthorne Street. The break cut water service to about 700 residents on the city’s North End. Customers in the impacted area are being told to either boil tap water before drinking or cooking with it or use an alternative source until authorities lift the advisory. Tests have been done to make sure the water is safe, but the results won’t be known until tomorrow. The city points out this is a boil advisory, not a boil order.
