Board of Supervisors Set Date to Discuss ATV/UTV Usage
A decision on whether Dubuque County will allow ATVs and UTVs on county roads could come by the end of this month. The county Board of Supervisors has scheduled a meeting for April 30 to discuss the issue, which the county has been studying for about six months. Discussion of the issue will be the only item on the agenda for the meeting. The discussion will not include any public comment. Right now, ATVs and UTVs are only allowed to be driven on county roads for farm use. But citizens have been pushing for a legalization of recreational usage. They presented the board with a 2,000-signature petition in support of ATV and UTV use last year. That prompted the board to form a committee to look into the issue. That committee submitted a 610-page report to the board in late January, which did not include a recommendation.
