Loras College, the University of Dubuque, and the rest of the American Rivers Conference has announced they are forging ahead with a fall sports schedule. The conference Presidents Council says they will proceed with conference competition, using a reduced schedule in football and single round-robin schedules in men’s and women’s cross country, women’s golf, men’s and women’s soccer, women’s tennis, and volleyball. Loras Athletic Director Denise Udelhofen says the leaders of the conference wanted to give their student athletes some type of experience this season.
The ARC says schedules will be announced as soon as the revised drafts pass through the conference’s governance groups. She says the first competitions int eh ARC will likely begin September 12th.
The ARC Presidents Council and conference leadership will continue to monitor public health in the region and will adjust the schedules accordingly.
