14th Annual Art On The River

Ten new sculptures have been selected for the 14th annual Art On The River public exhibit Friday. The unique works of art will be installed around the Grand River Center and along the Mississippi Riverwalk at the Port of Dubuque. Economic Development Director, Jill Conners, says the opening reception for the exhibit will be held Friday, from 5:00-7:30 p.m. at the Grand River Center Terrace. The theme is “The Mississippi Magnified” and focuses on artists and artwork that draw inspiration from the people, culture, beauty, and magnitude of the mighty Mississippi River. Conners says there will a style show for the first time.┬áConners says there is a virtual reality piece that requires a smartphone app to experience from the Mississippi Riverwalk that attendees are encouraged to download the free 4th Wall app prior to the opening.┬áThe new exhibit will be displayed until July 2020 and all the sculptures are for sale and can be installed in both indoor and outdoor areas. The event is free, family friendly, and open to the public.
