Repeat Drug Dealer Sentenced to Federal Prison

A Dubuque meth dealer caught with more than $50,000 worth of the drug has been sentenced to more than 23 years in federal prison. That’s the sentence handed down to 42-year-old Scott Harry this week. Harry was found guilty last December of Possessing More Than Fifty Grams of Meth with Intent to Distribute by a federal jury. According to prosecutors, Harry had been pulled over while driving on US Highway 151 between Dubuque and Cascade in February of last year. During the traffic stop, officers found a PVC pipe that had been filled with more than 660 grams of pure methamphetamine. Harry’s sentence was enhanced because he has a previous drug dealing conviction. In 1998, he was convicted on a state charge of Delivery of Cocaine.
