A Free Family Fishing Day for all ages will be held at the Bee Branch Creek. Registration begins at 10 am. Please meet at the Bee Branch Creek parking lot on E. 16th St. between Sycamore St. and Kerper Blvd. A limited number of fishing poles will be available, so please bring your own if you have one.

5th Annual Shenanigans/Veterans Freedom Center Ride and Benefit

Shenanigans Bar is holding a Motorcycle Ride and Benefit for the Veterans Freedom Center. All proceeds go to our local Vets. Motorcycle ride leaves Shenanigans at 11:00am. Shenanigans will also host a Hog Roast contest, and a Wing Cook off. Live and Silent Auctions, Raffles and Live music. (Raffles include a a trip to Sturgis and a week stay at a condo in Cabo, Mexico)

The Senior vs Hempstead softball games are being hosted by the Dubuque Girls Independent League at the DGIL fields. DGIL players who wear their uniform shirt will get free admission. These games at 5:30pm and 7:00pm, are in support of Ben Springer who is battling Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma.

The 2nd annual Michael W. Ogelsby Foundation 5K Walk/Run and one mile Fun Run raising money to benefit pancreatic cancer research will begin at the Theisen’s parking lot on Chavenelle Road. The City of Guttenburg, Iowa will hold their Stars & Stripes Celebration at Ingleside Park. Entertaiment begins at 3:00pm, a parade starts at 7:00pm on River Park Drive and will be followed by a performance from the Clayton Ridge Drill Team. Fireworks will begin at dusk.

Join the Jones County Naturalist Intern, Anna James, and learn some fascinating and fun facts about our moon. Meet at the Central Park Nature Center for a short PowerPoint presentation and , weather permitting, step outside to take a closer look at the moon. (Lunar telescope and binoculars will be available for participants to use.)

A fundraising event for Kieler Athletic Club will feature the band Menace. Gates open at 7:00pm and the music begins at 8:00pm. There will be no cover charge. Donations will benefit the  KAC youth baseball and softball programs. Cold beverages and hot beef and pulled pork sandwiches will be available.

Friends of the Dubuque County Conservation Board are hosting the “Heritage Trail Splash and Dash” starting at the Heritage Pond. Participants will swim 400 yards and run 3.1 miles. Shoe Drive

DuTrac Community Credit Union is collecting any type of gently used and new shoes until July 31. Shoes can be dropped off at any Dubuque DuTrac office location. Shoes collected will then be redistributed through the network of micro-enterprise partners in developing countries. Proceeds from the sales of the shoes are used to feed, clothe and house their families.
