Illinois Man Logs 5th, 6th Public Intox Arrests Since Mid-May

An Illinois man picked up for Public Intoxication by Dubuque Police four times in eight days earlier this year was arrested twice more last week. 57-year-old Stuart Rogers of Freeport was again arrested on Public Intoxication charges both Wednesday evening and Saturday morning. The Wednesday arrest happened at about 7:00 PM at the Hy-Vee on South Locust Street. Employees noticed Rogers was stumbling around the store and notified two officers who were there on unrelated business. Then shortly after 7:00 Saturday morning, Rogers was found asleep outside the main entrance of the Carnegie-Stout Public Library. A breath test showed he had a blood alcohol content of .101. Rogers has pled guilty to each of the four counts of Public Intoxication he was arrested on in May. Those pleas have produced a total sentence of 32 days in jail.
