Hanover Man Charged After False Report

A Hanover man has been charged after police say he called in a false report. Court documents from Jo Daviess County Circuit Court say 62 year old Danny Holland faces a charge of felony-level false reporting to 911. Holland is accused of calling 911 on the night of June 17th to report that he saw a child fall into his neighbor’s swimming pool. He told police that he could not see into the pool, because it was fenced in. He later called back told authorities it might have been a raccoon that he saw fall into the pool. Crews from the Hanover Fire Department responded to the neighbor’s pool and drained it. They didn’t find a child or an animal at the bottom. The neighbor later told police that he had been having an ongoing feud with Holland.
