Dubuque Man Cited After Hitting Building

A Dubuque man was cited after his vehicle smashed into a building that houses the Dream Center and Radius Church Friday morning. According to a police report the incident happened at around 7:15, when 22 year old Derrick Moore was making a left turn from 16th Street onto White Street. While making the turn, Moore lost control of his vehicle, drove onto the sidewalk and struck the building located in the 16-hundred block of White. The vehicle then bounced off the building and struck a vehicle that was parked nearby. After the crash, Moore fled the area, but police used traffic camera footage and a witness report to locate him a short time later. He was cited for failure to maintain control and failure to provide identification after hitting a structure. Moore was then arrested on an unrelated charge and taken to the Dubuque County Jail. The crash caused about four thousand dollars in damage. The incident did not impact the Dream Center’s daily activities.
