Dubuque Area Non-Profits Receive Grants from Alliant Foundation

Seven Dubuque County non-profit organizations will be receiving a total of more than $20,000 from a utility company. The Alliant Energy Foundation announced grants last week. The seven being awarded to local groups are just a few of the nearly 200 grants that Alliant is awarding this year. Among the recipients are:

– the Dubuque Community School District Foundation, which will get $5,000 to help with a middle school energy science program,

– Dubuque-based Junior Achievement of the Heartland, which is also picking up $5,000,

– the Four Mounds Foundation will receive $2,300 to help with ecological restoration,

– the Two-by-Two Character Development Program will get $1,500,

– Hills and Dales, which has been awarded $1,000 in assistance for its Summer Respite Inclusion Project,

– Tri-State Mountain Bike Riders, who are getting $5,000 for their Interstate Power Forest Preserve Project,

– and the City of Worthington, which will receive $500 to pay for new library books.
