Cuba City Woman Hospitalized After Crashing into Creek

A southwest Wisconsin woman was seriously injured after crashing her car into a creek late last week. At about 8:15 last Friday morning, 36-year-old Sarah Young of Cuba City was found in her car in Kieler Creek, about a mile southeast of Kieler. According to the Grant County Sheriff’s Office, Young had been headed west on Jimtown Road when she suffered a medical emergency and lost control of her vehicle. The car crossed the center line, struck a bridge support, went airborne across Kieler Creek, crashed into another support, and landed in the creek. Water was up to the vehicle’s side mirrors. Officers believe Young had been the creek for up to 90 minutes before being found. She was taken to Mercy Hospital in Dubuque to be treated for injuries suffered in the crash and for exposure to the cold water.
