Blue Cheese Burgers (4/27/2007)

Blue Cheese Burgers

3 lbs. Ground beef
4-5 oz. Blue cheese, crumbled
½ cup minced fresh chives
¼ teaspoon hot pepper sauce
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
3 cloves minced garlic
2 teaspoons Montreal steak seasoning
1 teaspoon dry mustard
12 hamburger buns
1 bottle blue cheese salad dressing
1 large can French Fried onions (warmed)

In a large bowl, mix the ground beef, blue cheese, chives, hot pepper sauce, Worcestershire sauce, Montreal seasoning and mustard together. Cover, and refrigerate for at least 2 hours.

When ready to cook, preheat oven to 250-degrees. Spread French fried onions on baking sheet and warm in oven for 5-10 minutes. Preheat grill to high to medium-high heat. Form the burger mixture into 12 patties. Oil the grill. Grill patties about 5 minutes per side, or until well done. Serve on hamburger buns and top with a small amount of blue cheese salad dressing, then, top with some French fried onions.
