Stuffed Blue Cheese-Bacon Burger (6/13/2014)

 


Stuffed Blue Cheese-Bacon Burgers


 


3 lbs. Ground Beef


2 T. Worcestershire sauce


3 T. Dijon mustard


1 tsp. ground black pepper


1-4oz. pkg. cream cheese, softened


1 pkg. Mindora Blue cheese-crumbled


8 strips Applewood smoked bacon


Hamburger buns, split and toasted


Sliced tomato


Sliced red onion


 


In a large bowl, mix together ground beef, Worcestershire sauce, mustard, crumbled bacon and pepper.  Divide into 8 equal portions and flatten each one into ¼-inch thick patty.  


 


In a separate bowl, combine cream cheese and blue cheese, and thyme.  Place an equal portion of the blue cheese mixture on each patty and spread to within a ½-inch outside rim of burger patty.  Top with the remaining patties, and, press the edges together to seal the filing inside. 


 


Lightly oil grill grate and preheat grill for medium heat (350-degrees F). 



Grill patties for 6-8 minutes per side.  Serve on toasted buns, topped with sliced tomato and red onion.
