Hot Turkey Sausage Chili (1/27/2012)

Hot Turkey Sausage Chili

2 lbs. Cremer's Hot Turkey sausage
1 large onion, chopped
4 garlic cloves, minced
½ tsp. salt
½ tsp. pepper
2 15.5 oz. cans chili beans, undrained
2 15 oz. cans tomato sauce
1 28 oz. can crushed tomatoes
1 ½ cup beef broth
4 tablespoons chili powder
2 teaspoons Italian Seasoning
½ teaspoon cinnamon
1 jalapeno pepper, finely chopped
½ teaspoon cayenne pepper
3 tablespoons brown sugar
¼ teaspoon ground clove

In a large soup pot, cook turkey sausage, onion, garlic, salt, pepper, and 1 tablespoon chili powder over medium heat until sausage is no longer pink. Add remaining ingredients.

Bring to boil; reduce heat. Simmer, uncovered, for 45 minutes, stirring occasionally. If you'd like, you can add contents of pot to a large slow cooker and cook on low 6-7 hours.
