Slow Cooked Red Wine Beef Short Ribs (1/13/2012)

Slow Cooked Red Wine Beef short Ribs


6 lbs. Beef Short Ribs
1 ½ cups Red wine
1 cup Ketchup
¼ cup soy sauce
3 cloves garlic
3 tablespoons brown sugar
1 teaspoon fresh ground black pepper
2 medium-size yellow onions, chopped


Place short ribs on a broiler pan and broil until well browned. Arrange the ribs in the slow cooker.


Combine wine, ketchup, soy sauce, garlic, brown sugar, and pepper in bowl, and mix until smooth and well blended. Pour over ribs in slow cooker. Add onions over all. Cover and cook on low until tender and the meat starts to separate from the bone, 7-8 hours.


Transfer ribs to a platter and set aside. Let sauce cool for a bit, then spoon the liquid fat off the surface and discard. Pour the sauce over the ribs and serve immediately.
