Turkey Brats with Kraut (5/6/2011)

8 Turkey brats
1 large onion, sliced
Sauerkraut
Hot dog or brat buns


In a 9 x 13-inch baking pan, add turkey brats randomly. Cover with sliced onions. Add enough water to cover first layer of brats. Cover with aluminum foil and place in a preheated 350-degree F oven for 2 hours.


When ready to serve, either heat grill to medium heat and place brats and onions on grill and cook until golden brown on all sides, just a few minutes. Or, you can place brats under the broiler. Place brats and onions on roaster rack over roasting pan and place under broiler set on High. Broil for just a few minutes on each side until golden brown.


Serve on buns with sauerkraut and other condiments. (No ketchup for me though!)
