Ham with Cola/Maple glaze (4/22/2011)

Ham with Cola/Maple Glaze

1 fully cooked ham (recommended "Rose Private Stock" brand)
Whole cloves, optional
½ cup maple syrup
½ cup brown sugar
½ cup cola
1 tablespoon Dijon or brown mustard
¼ teaspoon ground ginger
¼ teaspoon ground cinnamon

Follow packaging directions for warming ham. Combine maple syrup, brown sugar, cola, mustard, ginger, and cinnamon in a saucepan; bring to a simmer and continue cooking over low heat about 2 minutes. About 20 minutes before the ham is done, spoon half of the glaze over the top of ham, then about 10 minutes before done, spread the remaining glaze over ham. Remove from oven and let rest 5-10 minutes before carving.
